Hungary coach: Varga will miss the end of the Euro

The match between Hungary and Scotland in the third round of the group stage in Euro 2024 last night witnessed a serious accident, with Hungary striker Barnbas Varga injured after colliding with Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn.


Hungarian national team coach Marco Rossi said after the match: “Barnbas’s life is not in danger. He is in good condition and will undergo surgery after suffering a facial fracture. Unfortunately, he will not be available for the rest of the tournament.”


The Hungarian Federation had issued an official statement after the match in which it confirmed that the player was in a stable condition and conscious and that there was no danger to his life despite the serious injury he suffered.


It is noteworthy that Hungary was able to defeat the Scottish team with a goal scored by Csoppot in the 100th minute of the match.
